Myvi wins supermini car of the year award

Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd's (Perodua) sixth and most successful model to date, the Myvi, has won the Autocar Asean, Car of the Year Award for 2005/2006 in the supermini category.

In a ceremony at its office on Oct 17, Perodua’s managing director Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar received the award from MTM Publications Sdn Bhd managing director Kate Stearman Smith.

In a statement, Perodua said at a separate ceremony earlier, Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd saw the line-up of its 100,000th unit Myvi produced after only 17 months of introduction.

Hafiz said Perodua’s new model to be launched in May next year was progressing smoothly and he was confident that the public would be similarly supportive of the new car.
